Use these points to organise the material, route, dimensions and operating information needed for a practical review.
A flexible auger is part of a system
Coil dimensions alone do not define how a feed line will perform. The conveyed material, tube route, horizontal and vertical sections, bend radius, total length, feed points, discharge arrangement and drive all need to be considered together.
Start with the material
Feed, grain, plastic pellets and other small particulate materials behave differently in a tube. Bulk density, particle size, moisture, fragility and tendency to bridge affect the practical route and capacity. Cleaning requirements may also change the tube and access arrangement.
Map the real pipe route
Provide a simple layout with elevations, bends and the position of the feed source and final discharge. For automatic poultry or livestock feeding, include the hopper arrangement and sensor logic. For grain or pellet transfer, identify whether the line runs continuously or in batches.
Match the auger, tube and drive
The spring-steel auger must operate with the selected tube and motor arrangement. Longer routes, elevation changes and multiple bends increase the importance of drive and support review. A quoted coil should therefore be linked to a defined system duty.
Select the cross-section before replacement
A square-bar auger is a separate cross-section, not another name for every flexible coil. Replacement enquiries should include the bar or strip section, outside diameter, pitch, hand and both end connections. These measurements help separate a true square-bar requirement from the general flexible-auger route.
