Production approach

Cold mould pressing forms individual blade segments with controlled inside diameter, outside diameter and pitch. It is intended for specifications where continuous forming is less practical.

Drawings and tooling

The final tooling and configuration should be checked against the material grade, plate thickness, required geometry and any cut-outs, bosses or gaps in the flight.

The working range must be confirmed against the buyer's drawing rather than inferred from one headline dimension. Tooling and machine configuration are reviewed before quotation. If more than one configuration is available, the final machine scope, included tooling and applicable working range are those stated in the approved quotation.

Best suited to special flight work

The press route is designed for single-pitch segments where diameter, thickness or material makes a continuous method unsuitable. It can support equal or variable diameters and pitches, as well as engineered rim or root features when these are included in the drawing.

Installation and handling inputs

Provide a workshop plan showing blank loading, lifting equipment, press access, tooling-change space, dimensional checking and finished-segment storage. State the destination voltage, phase and frequency so the final electrical and hydraulic configuration can be confirmed in the quotation.

What to send for review

Provide the segment OD, ID, pitch, thickness, plate grade, required quantity and joining/weld preparation. For projects using wear plate or stainless steel, include the material designation so the forming approach can be checked before tooling is confirmed.
