Profile and helix must agree
A rounded-edge spiral flight is defined by two sets of geometry: the cross-section of the profiled strip or segment and the helix it must form. A standard OD, ID and pitch note does not fully describe the part.
Section information
Show the base width and thickness, rounded radius or profile, and which edge faces inward or outward after forming. If the section is supplied by the buyer, provide its material and dimensional tolerance. If it is to be sourced with the order, the available section must be reviewed before the flight is confirmed.
Finished-flight information
State outside diameter, inside diameter, pitch, hand, quantity and the required segment or assembly length. Include shaft or tube dimensions and any weld preparation when the flight will be assembled by the buyer.
When to choose this option
Use this product when the rounded edge is a functional drawing requirement rather than a general deburring request. For a flat-section single-pitch segment, select Sectional Spiral Blade. For a toothed outside edge, use Serrated Sectional Flight.

Which edge of the flight is rounded?
The drawing must identify the rounded edge and its orientation after forming. Do not assume the inside and outside edges use the same profile.
What section dimensions are needed?
Provide the base thickness and width together with a dimensioned profile or a clear section drawing of the rounded edge.
Can the profile be copied from a worn sample?
A sample helps identify the shape, but wear can change the edge. A drawing or an unworn reference section is preferred for confirmation.
Is this a standard sectional flight?
It follows a helical form, but the profiled edge adds a separate forming and fit requirement. It should be quoted from both the section and helix drawings.
